There is increasing pressure for developers to achieve sustainability and energy performance targets.
National policy is setting a transition to zero carbon homes by 2012. Whilst regional and local policy is also driving sustainable construction and CO2 saving measures in new developments, though prescriptive renewable energy generation targets and Code for Sustainable Homes requirements.
CEN provide tools and guidance to meet and exceed the increasingly challenging planning and Housing Corporation requirements, enabling our clients to meet their commitments to sustainable design and construction and to affordable warmth.
Code for Sustainable Homes:
Guidance for every step of the process, from initial advice and design, through to implementation and final assessment.
Qualified Code assessors provide detailed guidance on water conservation, waste management, energy, materials and all other aspects of the Code to target actions in order to meet all Code Levels in the most efficient way possible.
Energy efficient design and SAP assessments:
Advice on reducing Dwelling Emission Rate (DER) through building design. Modeling of performance and SAP assessments by qualified SAP assessors enabling the most efficient use of renewable energy.
Low and zero carbon technologies assessments:
Extensive experience of installations and a network of suppliers and installers, covering: wind, solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, ground source heat pumps, CHP and biomass technologies.
Site specific assessments enable developers to choose the most appropriate low or zero carbon technology and advice on moving towards zero carbon developments.
Supporting clients through the planning process
Through assisting local authorities and regional agencies in the development and delivery of sustainable design and construction policy, CEN has developed a strong capability and understanding of the policy environment.
We are well placed therefore to provide the necessary support to our clients to ensure their development meets or exceeds policy requirements, cost effectively.
