Existing Stock

All homes on the rental market will require Energy Performance Certificates from 2008, and all social housing must achieve ‘Decent Homes’ status, which includes thermal comfort. These policies, combined with corporate social responsibility, are driving the need to ensure buildings achieve the highest levels of energy performance.

CEN provide flexible approaches to improving the environmental performance of existing stock, tackling fuel poverty and gaining the strongest position to deal with future legislative challenges.

Stock wide assessments:

  • Assessment of the entire housing stock in order to target weaknesses and improve overall performance. Tools such as EcoHomes XB can be used to assess the position of stock and set targets.

Renewables:

  • Extensive experience of supporting housing providers through the process of retrofitting existing stock with low and zero carbon technologies.

Energy efficiency:

  • Advice and implementation of energy efficiency measures, such as cavity wall insulation, high efficiency c ondensing boilers, loft insulation and energy rated goods.
  • Feasibility assessments of communal heating and combined heat and power.
