HotSpots is an EST innovation project, funded
by the EST innovation programme for 2 years from March 2004.
The scheme uses GIS technology to correlate data from Home
Energy Checks, Local Authority databases, and the census in
order to identify neighbourhoods where EEC schemes for the
fuel rich can be best targeted.
The project has been very sucessful, with significantly higher
returns than any previous CEN project aimed at the fuel rich.
The project developed 'targeting strategies' for each of
the partner Local Authorities. A full list is available here.
The strategies were used to develop borough-customised marketing
campaigns for the range of services for the fuel-rich developed
by CEN.
Full details of the project can be found in the final report
delivered to the EST in April 2006. The report includes details
of the publicity materials used, project methods and returns,
and so on.
