Renewable Energy Action for London (REAL)

Overcoming the Barriers to Renewable Energy

REAL was launched in December 2003, with the key aim to facilitate community-scale renewable energy installations and promote sustainable energy in London.

So far REAL has helped with 32 installations, worth nearly £520,000. Between them, these projects offset 328,000kg of carbon dioxide each year. See the map below for more details.

REAL Update September 2006

Renewable energy is innovative, visible and exciting and is an effective means of engaging with local communities to encourage the uptake of energy efficiency measures and practices in the home.

The REAL project team has already helped many organisations benefit from renewable energy, a list of which can be found under 'Communities' in the menu on the left.

You can also view some case studies by following the menu. We are always on the look out for high profile sites for installations, and will provide assistance to any organisations wishing to make renewable energy installations.

To find out more or to discuss becoming involved in the REAL initiative, email Joseph Williams at CEN, or call him on 020 8683 6805.
